I'm Joi Whitmore — a full-stack software engineer with 17 years of professional experience, a background in graphic design and 3D animation, and a habit of writing code since I was a kid.

I went to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to study graphic design and 3D animation — I wanted to understand the visual side of things too. That combination ended up shaping everything about how I work.
I've spent 17 years building software professionally, at every scale. I led front-end teams at Office Depot. Built React component systems at GiddyUp Group. Shipped APIs, microservices, and gRPC services in Go at ZenBusiness, where I worked as a Staff Engineer. I've touched the full stack — frontend, backend, databases, infrastructure.
Somewhere along the way I realized the work I liked best was the most direct. A small business owner with a real problem, and me with the skills to solve it. No ticket queue. No committee. Just a conversation and then something that works.
In 2017, I founded Singularity Systems LLC — the company behind Glass Fish Design — to do exactly that. I work directly with clients. I ask a lot of questions before I build anything. And I'd rather hand someone a site they can manage themselves than one that keeps them dependent on me.
